PATIENT JOURNEY MAP

PRIMARY RESEARCH

We had two interviews with the CCBP research team to understand the patients and pain points throughout the communication process.

most patients are aged between 55 and 76

about 10% are less than 45 years old

pretty diverse educational background

typically most patients visit in person

The patients are visited only once per year, so some may forget that they are in the study.

PAIN POINTS

PERSONA

Sometimes patients are afraid of social interaction and feel to be helpless

The team has to repeatedly call patients and make notes to check-in for different appointments, which is a lot to manage.

The team does not typically see or contact the patients during the 8-9 month between the visits.

sometimes they have memory problems when filling the forms and questionnaires

Patients have several concerns and lack of direction about scheduling, it is confusing

OVERVIEW AND GOALS

OVERVIEW AND GOALS

The Cincinnati Cohort Biomarker Program (CCBP) is a population-based medical research initiative focused on collecting and analyzing biomarker data to advance the understanding of various health conditions and diseases. The current CCBP website is a mostly informative platform where stakeholders, including patients, caregivers and academics, can communicate with the program and the team. To enhance participant experience and engagement, CCBP has expressed interest in designing a patient portal that streamlines the communication process.

The goal is to design a portal that encourages CCBP participants to actively engage with their health data, and feel connected to the research process. To create an accessible interface that is easy to navigate and gives a seamless experience for all users. A portal that is both user-friendly and accessible.
